New Hire Announcement
Name: Eric Kang
Bio: Eric brings decades of retail experience to BDA. He spent the formative years of his career at Gap, Inc. in their retail stores division before advancing in supply chain roles. Since, Eric has been responsible for running supply chains in a multitude of product categories and verticals. Eric moved to Washington state six years ago to run the supply chain at national housewares retailer Sur La Table.
What You Bring to the Team:
Based on my varied background, I bring different perspectives on supply chain management that can augment the already strong team and processes that are in place. I also enjoy developing talent and hope my experiences can help grow our future leaders here.
There are many things that excited me about working at BDA. First, many companies will claim that they strive to satisfy the customer but I've never seen a company be so committed to it. Second, I was really impressed with the leadership team during my interview process. It was clear to me the passion they had for running the business and believed in the strategic vision they described. Lastly, I wanted to be part of a dynamic and growing company.
What Do You Hope to Accomplish in Your New Role?
My main goal is to centralize the supply chain. There is a huge opportunity in moving from siloed functional areas to an organization that is set up to take advantage of the large volumes we do and utilize our expertise across all business divisions.
Sadly, none. What you see is what you get.
I didn't have one. My friends and I called each other by our last names if we didn't use our first names.
When You're Not Pinch-Hitting at BDA:
I'm spending time with my family, dog included. We like to explore and discover new places in the Pacific Northwest.
What Would Jay Say About You?
I think he'd say I'm somebody he can count on for objective and data driven recommendations that drive BDA's best interests.
