In partnership with Disney/Pixar, Kellogg’s Morning Foods division enlisted BDA to create a unique rebate item featuring Finding Dory characters for a gift with purchase promotion. Kellogg’s relied on BDA to design a useful, Finding Dory-themed item with a high perceived value that would appeal to children and their parents and drive cereal sales prior to the movie release.
BDA designed a custom lantern with rotating colored lights that projected the character of Dory onto the ceiling. 30,000 units were developed for eight of Kellogg’s most popular cereal boxes and distributed to Walmart, Target, and Safeway stores across the country.
The Finding Dory projection lantern scored extremely high in focus groups and was quickly approved by Disney/Pixar. The promo integrated seamlessly with Kellogg’s Family Rewards program and new digital media efforts.
