New Hire Announcement

Name: Doug Stubsten

Doug Stubsten | BDA

BDA has hired financial and accounting whiz, Doug Stubsten, as Corporate Controller to join the BDA family. Doug joins BDA with a diverse background having worked in multiple roles across a variety of industries including Global Corporate Controller at FUJIFILM SonoSite, and the VP of Finance at Intermec. His background allows him to bring insights into accounting and consulting, and a perspective of working at large agencies and public companies. Doug grew up in the NW and earned his MBA from the University of Washington.

What You Bring to the Team:
Having worked at public and international organizations, I understand the full mix of process improvement, implementations, merger integration and much more. You could say I’m a jack of all trades.

Why BDA:
To me, the growth trajectory and opportunity to build something is what makes BDA so attractive. There is a lot of opportunity because we have to keep raising the bar to do things better and faster, and change and focus on improvements are part of my DNA. Plus, there are really good people at BDA who are enjoyable to work with. This is a fun company that still offers a challenge.

What You Hope to Accomplish in Your New Role:
I am going to focus on bringing more structure and predictability and focus on integration across teams. As we continue to work better and better, we are going to create world-class processes.

Hidden Talent:
Speaking accounting is not a particularly good talent.
I’m pretty transparent, so I don’t know if I have anything ‘hidden.’

Childhood Nickname:
Nothing that I’m willing to share. With the last name of Stubsten, you can probably come up with a few.

Coffee or Tea:
I’m definitely a coffee guy. I come from a Scandinavian background so there is always a pot brewing.

When You’re Not Pinch-Hitting at BDA:
I’m an avid motorcycle rider. I recently took a 1,700 mile trip from Denver to Yellowstone. Other than that, I really enjoy time with the family, and traveling. Some of the most diverse places I have visited are Mumbai, Istanbul, and Mexico City. I love experiencing cultural diversities so travel is high on my list.

What would Jay Say about you?:
Doug is the guy you want to sit and have a beer with. His diverse background has provided him fascinating experiences that will only help push BDA to the next level. As we continue to grow and expand internationally, Doug is going to help us simplify our processes while making them better, faster, and more accurate.
