For nearly 40 years, we have worked with customers in nearly every corner of the globe, offering innovative solutions while helping to build meaningful connections between consumers and brands. And while our focus has always been on driving value creation for our clients we have never been as focused on our corporate social responsibility and the environmental footprint we leave behind.
This means acknowledging our role in creating an environmentally friendly and socially responsible workplace, while partnering with clients and suppliers who share in our commitment to give back more than we take. And it led BDA to establishing measurable and actionable steps across our global business offices to reduce our impact on the planet.
We're proud to announce we've achieved ISO 14001 certification, an Environmental Management System (EMS) that is a critical environmental standard for measuring and improving our environmental impact. This certification further enables us to significantly improve our environmental impact. Alongside this certification, BDA has also achieved an ISO 9001 certification, a Quality Management System (QMS) that is a systematic approach for meeting customer objectives and providing consistent quality. This certification is closely tied to ISO 1400 and helps to improve our overall performance and provide a sound basis for sustainable development initiatives.
The ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies) who bring together experts to share knowledge and develop international standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
These two certifications will help us tackle issues such as the sustainable use of resources, preserving the local biodiversity and ecosystems while taking measures to prevent pollution. Additionally, they will help us think about the life-cycle stages that can be controlled or influenced by BDA such as raw-material acquisition, design, production, transportation/delivery, use, end-of-life treatment and final disposal.
Ultimately, what these certifications truly mean for BDA, our partners and our customers further showcase our commitment to doing everything we can to protect our planet and reduce not only our own impact to the earth but to positively influence all the businesses, communities and individuals we interact with as well. They also mean we've prioritized this alongside continuing to enhance our client services to ensure we are consistently delivering the best goods, service and care we possibly can.
While we've worked hard to achieve these goals and we're proud of these certifications, we're not done. That's why we continue to establish proactive initiatives to raise awareness in an effort to safeguard the environment and better understand our role in the areas of corporate social responsibility (CSR). We believe we must proceed with intention, to understand and acknowledge how our work impacts the environment and how our influence with suppliers and partners can help accelerate progress.
