We orchestrate the global supply chain like a master conductor. BDA closely manages a sourcing network of domestic suppliers and more than 75 factories in Asia and worldwide. At every step, our priorities align with yours. Compliance with all federal and state safety regulations. Diversity initiatives. Social responsibility. Environmental stewardship. Supply chain security. Systematic, transparent processes. Just-in-time solutions. Inventory management. Our due diligence and complete end to end approach simply produces better product at a better cost for you.
BDA's vertically integrated supply chain management team combines industry-leading standard operating procedures with professional buyers and quality control experts who will:
- Reduce overall costs
- Increase efficiencies
- Ensure safe, compliant products
With a domestic supplier base of more than 15,000 companies, BDA realized that in order to maintain the level of quality, accountability, efficiency and proprietary pricing necessary to meet our criteria, it was necessary to develop a Preferred Supplier Network. Once approved, a new supplier is ranked based on its qualifications, service levels and pricing. A supplier can move up and down the ranking system according to how well it services BDA. Our main means of control is through leverage—our collective buying power as a company. Our preferred suppliers know us, understand our business and know how to work with BDA through experience, guidance and counsel from Supplier Services.
To maximize cost savings through superior supply chain management, BDA breaks down our buying structure by category, and then staffs these categories with dedicated experts. Aligning our organization in this manner allows each category leader to stay focused on understanding the latest market trends and dynamics within a particular category, and to forge relationships that enable BDA to secure preferred pricing. Many of BDA's category leaders have more than a decade of experience within their area of expertise. BDA works diligently at staying informed of new industry innovations and creativity. Additionally, because we sell consumer licensed merchandise to retailers like Costco, Target, Walmart and Best Buy, we are producing concepts based on retail trends 12 to 18 months in advance.
BDA is an industry leader in import capabilities, leveraging an Import Services team that manages vendors at the factory level to maximize cost savings and drive factory compliance. We work with more than 75 factories not only in China, but throughout Asia, the Middle East and South America. While many distributors claim to work factory-direct, most are actually working through agents, meaning they are not actually able to get the lowest cost.
With a high concentration of factories in Asia, BDA established an overseas headquarters in Shenzhen, China, in 2004 to spearhead the establishment and maintenance of direct-to-factory relationships, as well as to directly supervise quality control efforts. BDA China employs more than 50 full-time associates dedicated to delivering our clients safe, quality merchandise at the best possible price point. BDA inspects the factories we utilize in Asia first-hand, and stringently enforces a set of self-imposed quality, safety and ethical standards in order to set an example as an industry leader, and to protect the brand equity of our clients.
Since we don't stock a warehouse full of blank goods, we aren't incentivized to push certain products that we need to inventory. We start with the objectives of our client, and we then develop strategic solutions that meet these needs. BDA works hard to understand a client's marketing calendar well in advance, so we can take advantage of long lead times. With advanced planning, we can offer more creative and custom solutions, not to mention cost savings and opportunities to aggregate orders across an organization.
