Situation
POWER A, the consumer electronics retail brand of BDA, set out to create a controller that would enhance the overall experience of playing games on the Nintendo Wii.
Challenge
Gamers are harsh critics. Succeeding in the highly competitive video game accessory market is no small feat. The POWER A controller would be compared to Nintendo’s controllers and other third-party controllers.
Solution
POWER A’s team of hardcore gamers and veteran third-party developers decided to make more compact versions of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to suit a wider range of hand sizes. The MiniRemote is 35-percent smaller than the original Wii Remote, but the "A," "1" and "2" buttons were enlarged for greater accuracy and responsiveness. The soft-touch rubber surfaces are gently contoured, reducing the pressure on your fingers. The MiniChuk's analog stick was rebalanced for optimal weight, giving gamers more precise control, and the built-in speaker offers enhanced fidelity.
Result
At a time when all third-party Wii Remotes looked and played the same, POWER A released a game changer, helping solidify the brand as a major player in the video game accessories world. The original Pro Pack Mini is currently the best selling third-party Wii Remote/Nunchuck and a second version will be released later this year.
