BDA’S second-annual compliance conference places company’s leadership in compliance, quality and safety on center stage
Compliance Partnership Conference in China Attracts Over 280 Participants
Woodinville, Wash. – March 3, 2009 – Bensussen Deutsch & Associates, Inc. (BDA), the nation’s premier Merchandise AgencySM, held its second-annual Compliance Partnership Conference in Shenzhen, China, last week. The event emphasized the company’s strict compliance, quality and safety standards, further solidifying BDA’s industry-leadership and the company’s commitment to its clients. Over 280 participants gathered for the two-day invite-only conference, representing BDA’s international vendors and domestic importers, the Hong Kong Trade Association, the Shenzhen Regional Trade Association and representatives from Beijing’s Board of Commerce.
“Compliance laws change almost daily, and BDA’s proactive approach ensures that our company and partners stay one-step ahead of the competition,” said Ron Alessandrini, BDA’s vice president of imports. “BDA’s product quality standards either meet or exceed all regulations set forth by federal, state or international entities. The rigorous standards BDA has implemented to protect and better serve our clients must also be reflected by our vendors, and the conference highlighted the importance of this message.”
In 2008, BDA took bold steps to revamp its Import Department by training its overseas vendors on current laws, regulations and standard operating procedures. BDA also used this opportunity to address business and production expectations centering on the company’s compliance, quality and safety standards. This type of vendor assembly had only been conducted by one other company (Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.) prior to BDA, positioning the company as a pioneer in its industry.
Building upon the success of its inaugural program, BDA introduced a vendor summit showcase to this year’s agenda. The summit highlighted all aspects of BDA – from the company’s core values to its eight business channels – in an effort to foster deeper partnerships and a greater understanding of the business. For the first time, vendors were provided with a face-to-face forum where they could collaborate on new ideas, products and concepts with BDA.
“BDA has a great understanding and respect of the Chinese culture, which has enabled us to successfully conduct business in China,” said Alessandrini. “BDA takes its partnerships very seriously, and has made a heavy investment in its relationships with vendors through continued education on compliance, quality and safety. Like true partners, we will grow together, become stronger together, and find new ways to do business together.”
