BDA RAISES $100,000 FOR MARSHA RIVKIN CENTER FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW

Woodinville Based Merchandise Agency Raises Funds in Support of Ovarian Cancer Research

Woodinville, Wash., – July 11, 2008 – Bensussen Deutsch & Associates, Inc. (BDA), the nation’s premier Merchandise AgencySM today announced that for the second year in a row, it has raised a total of $100,000 in support of the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research. The Center’s mission is to save lives and reduce suffering through improved treatment, early detection, and prevention of ovarian cancer. For the past nine years, BDA company founders Eric Bensussen and Jay Deutsch have been actively involved in helping the center raise funds for its important research and drive awareness around issues relating to ovarian cancer. The two founders presented a check today to Dr. Saul Rivkin at a ceremony at BDA headquarters.

“For the second year in a row we have succeeded in raising $100,000 on behalf of a cause that is very dear to all of us here at BDA,” said Eric Bensussen, President of BDA. “This fundraising effort speaks to the power of BDA’s 500 employees who are deeply committed to creating and nurturing a better local community.”

The funds that BDA has raised for the Center have directly supported critical cancer research including the development of a symptom-screening questionnaire designed to boost early detection of ovarian cancer. “The passion and dedication to the Marsha Rivkin Center stems from Eric and Jay each losing a loved one to ovarian cancer,” said Dr. Saul Rivkin, who founded the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research. “But what makes this company so wonderful to work with is the energy, passion, and generosity that comes from the entire staff at BDA.”

BDA has supported the Marsha Rivkin Center since 2000 and was able to raise $4,000 in their first year. Every year since, BDA has challenged its associates to identify new ways to increase their fundraising results, and by every measure, they have succeeded. In 2008, in cooperation with the local community and vendors, BDA associates organized its annual “Spring Fling” event in which departments compete with one another to raise the most funds through popular activities like karaoke singing competitions, game tournaments, auctions and sales, with all proceeds benefiting the Center. In addition, BDA proudly renewed its title sponsorship of the SummeRun organized by Swedish Hospital on July 27th, and is supporting all BDA associates who wish to participate by paying their entry fee.
